Hi and thanks for reading my post.

Looking to get fit but not had a bike for 20 odd years and looking around see that they have come a long, long way in that time. :D
Im looking for a new bike under £350 which will last a few years and I can use it for the road and the odd jaunt on some trails. And was hoping some good souls could point me in the right direction of whats best for my choices below.

Have a few more but don't want to bore you anymore than I have. :D

The first two are plagued by poor forks - the other two are better in this regard, but take a look at this:

    http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-53 ... 68118.html

Great fork for this money, 27 speed groupset and some nice parts.
  • There are some recent reviews on this site for "budget" bikes.

I would consider Decathlon as mentioned above, the Halfords Carreras can be a good choice if you buy at the right time (prices up and down), I have ordered and reserved online in the past (after checking out the models in store), then added discount codes found on other sites... a few quid off here and there and you can get a bargain. My only gripe, the last two bikes I bought from there (kids Carrera Blast, ladies Carrera Vulcan) both had issues, but were resolved promptly.

Someone will also recommend 2nd hand, and with your budget you could get quite a nice bike, its just the risk and having the knowledge to choose the right one.

Worth also checking out Leisure Lakes bikes, they quite often have some used models in stock.

    Good find

Seems this bike has good reviews, thinking it maybe a good choice plus has the guarantee which would be some peace of mind.
