Looking at ordering some parts for 135mm, 700c, 6 bolt disc wheel build
I'm considering...
Shimano XT M756 front and rear hubs
Mavic Open Sport (rim brake) or TN317 (disc brake)
Would like rear hub to be convertable to solid axle.
Any others? It's not my main bike and only worth £350-£400 new so don't want to spend a lot of money on a set of wheels. £200 max including cost of wheel building.

As for other rims choices that might interest you are the Rigida Sputnik - a favouite amongst touring bike riders and very robust. Cheap also less than £20 but about 700g in weight. The rim is suitable for 28-50c tyres.
Rigida chrina is also a good road rim but road only. Only suitable for narrower tyres cheap at £~18 and double eyeleted. 510g in weight. I have built with rigida rims several times and have always been pleased with the result.
Using a rigida rim will save some vaulable pounds that can be spent on quality spokes.
I would expect a built using XT 756 hubs on rigida chrina or sputnik rim (32H 3x lacing) with spaim race spokes would be about £195 depending on where you by you parts from and who builds your wheels.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0
