I recently bought a Carrera Vulcan from Halfords, I got a puncture this afternoon so fixed it and decided to clean the bike aswell. When I tried to put the wheels back on it seems that the brakes are too tight for the brake disk to fit back in.. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Craig.

Take a clean object, a knife will do and spread the pads. Fit the wheel squeeze the lever a few times go ride.

Ask Halfords where the pad travel spacers are? And use them when the wheel is out.

  • Hi were the brakes pulled at all when the wheel was out? sounds like the piston may have over extended. What Nick said should do the trick.

Easier than speaking to halfords, just don't press the lever with the wheel out.
  • Absolute legends guys, I will try this first thing in the morning and will let you know the results!

    Many thanks again!
