Anyone doing this? I did the inaugural event in 2010 but missed it last year. I've entered the long route this time around, and its a day after I land from a USA business trip!

Hi Ian, yes I am a member of the FB page. What is the problem with you accessing it? You have to request to join and I think you have to be approved.0
-
I'm doing this - the start/finish is only a couple of miles from where I live so will probably cycle over too. I'm doing the 85 mile route. Will be wearing a Chester Road Club top. Hope to see you there.0
-
Where do you live Ian? I'm in Handbridge so nice and close to roll home afterwards!0
-
I live in Hoole, so not too far away.0
-
I'm signed up for this too.
The website says the HQ opens at 8am, but i believe it's a mass start. Anyone know what time?0 -
9am start I believe. Flying back from the US today and still have to build up my new bike for it. I here the weather should be great for it though!0

I did the first Broken Spoke and it was an excellent ride. OK we went offroute in the first mile - but after that it was spot on, and the food stops were brilliant. The organiser is a club rider and it shows that he knows what cyclists want in an event.0

Thanks, I'd rather leave with the bunch if I can.
Its looking like the weather will be positively Mediterranean. 8)0 -

I picked up my new bike today (replaces one mangled by a collision with a dog last year.) Broke my arm too but as no replacement was available I will have to soldier on with the 57 year old one.
Tomorrow is the first time I will have ridden it except for 5 mins faffing this eve with seat height etc. It's a spesh rouxbaix. If you are at the back of the field say hello as I pant up the horseshoe...
It's going to be a little warm methinks...now where is my white kit0 -
Boo! Flight delayed by 24 hours, only got back to the UK at lunchtime yesterday and severely jetlagged. Good luck to everyone who is riding0
-
Hope those that did it had a great ride. I was out with my club run and passed a load of the guys n gals around Moel Famau / Ruthin going in the opposite direction. The Old Bwlch (Bwlch Penbarras) looked tough today in that heat!
Any pics anyone? The views in N Wales were stunning today as it was pretty clear0 -
It was tough in that heat. I wrote a blog about the event at: http://chestercyclist.blogspot.co.uk/
Hope you like it0 -
That time is not too Shabby Ian, especially in the heat we had!0
-
I guess under the conditions it was OK. However, I did the Circle of Hope charity ride a few weeks ago, which was 94 miles and I did 5 hours 48 mins for that, so 87 miles in 5 hrs 50 mins seemed disappointing (although there were a lot more hills in the Broken Spoke ride).0

Anyone know if this is running this year?
Missed it in 2012 and nothing on the website this year.0
