front brake cable route - through head tube

Gonna be bodging up a rat bike jump bike and i intend to set the forks up with a headlock, remove it and run the brake cable through the headtube (for barspins innit)
Is this ok or am I missing something obvious?

    leave it in and drill a hole top and bottom and thread the hose through before fitting the end and bleeding. or make the hole large enough to pass the end through.

    or use a hollow star nut and bolt.
