quick question about bike insurance

Hello,

When insuring bikes do you insure them for how much they are worth or how much they cost at the time of buying?

I have a 2009 boardman hybrid pro ltd, which was £999 at the time but obviously worth significantly less now, just wondering what to insure it for

Also, if you have made improvements to a bike (different bike) ie, bought new groupsets etc what would i unsure this for, stock price it was sold for, or price + new bits etc

    If the cover is on a new for old basis then you will need to base on the full value. Same goes for new parts then too would need to be included.
    Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
