Noticed info on this year's has appeared.
Also noticed:
No longer a profits to charity deal, as far as I can tell.
Price come down from 40 to 35, possibly because of above? Still, expensive.
No early bird price unlike previous years.
GPX route links all 404.
Completely different route for the Stoke one, flat first half, hilly as owt for second half.

Yep, a complete revamp of the Stoke route this year & yeah pretty hilly for the 2nd half. Will be tougher than 09 &11's route & possibly tougher than 10's.
Aiming to ride it though as there's more of the route around my neck of the woods. Yipee!

I'll be doing it but the site says the 23rd and cycling weekly says the 30th - be good to have a different route too.

For the Scotish ride, they say it's a circular route from Dumfries, but the link to a map shows what i assume to be the actual stage from Jedburgh ! When the web site contains such a basic error, you have to wionder what the event organisation will be like. Only reference to any charity is a suggestion you use the event to raise funds in addition to paying £35 to the organisers.
It seems it doesn't even follow the Tour of britain stage, (which probably makes for a better sportive route), it's 2 weeks before the Tour, so then what exactly is the connection to the Tour of Britain?

Dumfries and surrounding area is well provided for with other, fully charitable, sportives run by enthusuitic volunteers. I think I will use my £35 to support these others ( Solway sportive (was today) , Drumlanrig (been and gone,) Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright (still to come))
