After some deliberation, a couple of test rides, more research, the excellent review on road.cc and finally biting the bullet... here's my shiny bright sexy new road bike, with thanks to George Osborne and my employer for "buying it". :)

Took it out for a nice "first ride" yesterday - 30km and apart from my adductors feeling a bit tight by the end I could have done it twice. The way it goes up hills is simply astonishing compared to the Scott I've been tooling around on up to now. Why didn't I do this before! :D

I like the white tape, but I've just seen your thread... looks good with the white stem/bars... wonder if my OH would notice...

When I've worn out the Schwalbe tyres I reckon some black and lime Rubino Pros are in order 8)

oh i like the white but it just gets soooo mucky and isn't white any more! just got new saddle for mine too will look to put a pic on tomorrow. only thing i can think about now is matching up all the brakes and chain set so its a full tiagra but think that may be some time away.

Blackcurrant squash (or whatever the fluid in the bottle is) clashes with the colour scheme. Get yourself some lemon or lime barley water.

Very. I'm going to be commuting in London - it may get replaced with an airhorn...

Nice bike I nearly bought the caad myself but opted for the synapse however the wheels arent the best but they'll do the job happy riding :D
  • Very nice..... i have the 2011 version in black and white and have to say i much prefer the 2012 colours.

    Bike envy
  • I know this is a bit of an old thread but I was just wondering if you still had this bike and are you still enjoying it? ...I'm thinking of buying one so would be interested in you views...are they fairly light? and would it be a good upgrade from an old Apollo tdf.

    cheers Martyn

Definitely still have it, have done 1160 km on it and I think it's brilliant.

There are a lot of bikes around at the £900-£1k point but I'm very happy with this one. I'll probably buy some better wheels for it next year, and the saddle sags a touch after 4+ hours on the road so I'll get a Specialized Romin at some point. Apart from that though: brilliant.

Lovely bike - just about to pop out with a mate who is taking his on its maiden voyage. Really looking forward to seeing how it goes.
