Hi.

Probably been asked before,

Can I use a 9 speed crank on a 10 speed drivetrain?

Yes you can, it isnt the crank that determines the speeds available from the drivetrain. It is the shifters, apart from the cassette the only other variable to be concerned about is the chain. These vary in width between different speed set ups.
    Hope this helps

    My shifters are 10 speed.

Is there going to be a massive bad difference if I was going to get a 9 speed crank?

You will be fine. What crank are you buying?

Generally speaking you can mix cranks with all manner of groupsets. Shifting won't always be optimal but it'll generally be fine.

I reckon you are safe with any combination of 9, 10, or 11 speed, and even older in some cases.
