Rebound Adjuster thingie on RockShox's

Ya know the little black plastic thing that sits over an o-ring? On the bottom of one of the lowers?
Are these things likely to fall off?
Or am I better keeping it on to keep stuff out of the little hole there?

Some people do lose them, I kept mine in the toolbox for a while just in case - all it is is a fancy allen key! After looking in the stickies (and buying shimano QRs) I put the rebound adjuster back on as you can place shimano skewers to stop it falling out.0
