Hello,

I had a puncture the other night and had an absolute nightmare trying to put the Bontranger tyre back on the rims.
I've heard this has been a problem for other Trek riders too.
Can anyone recommend suitable Rims, or would different tyres be the answer?

thanks

It'll probably be cheaper to buy aa whole new wheel, rather than rebuilding around a new rim.

But there's a knack to it, that's the answer, probably.

Bontrager tyres are tricky to get on & off, I used to have XR4's on mavic rims & I couldn't get them off without metal levers. Also put some Bontrager FR3 tyres on Intense MAG30 DH rims, needed big steel levers to get them off.
Try a set of Nobby Nic's, much cheaper than new wheels & much easier to get on & off.

I have no issues, i repalced the stock tyres with nobby nics and they went on fine. Bit of soapy water to help them pop onto the rims when inflating, other than that i can get them on and off without any tools at all.
My biggest fear is that should I crash, burn and die, my Wife would sell my stuff based upon what I told her I paid for it.
