Looking to get a new one, but cannot afford Snap-On, Kinchrome etc. Not willing to pay over the odds for a rebranded, marked up Park Tool one either. Just want something decent that is comfortable to use.

Are the Bahco ones any good? Been looking at a few of those. Probably need a 9" or more.

Bahco spanners are good kit, i work for a plumbing company and although they are quite expensive all the plumbers recommend them over cheaper brands.

Sounds like silly money to me - Stanley for under a tenner, any size.

Im a mechanic by trade mate, and my best advice is to get a semi decent set of proper combination spanners!! You can get a decent KS set for about £25, Or if you want even better quality Blue point, snap ons budget range are about £50.

However for adjustable spanners, I have 2 Black and Decker electric ones and they are awesome!! Nevr slipped on me ever!! and still less than £30 each.

But Id advice proper combo's everytime as less chance of damaging the nuts. Even if your just wanting it for a back pack 2 or 3 of the most popular spanners doesnt weigh that much!! and your less likely to end up cursing the nuts when your in the middle of no where and cant get summat off!!

why do we have a buying section?

    for asking buying questions.

Now as you put this in the tech section I will give you the appropriate answer.

you donr need an adjustable spanner for working on a bike.

if you need a big spanner then buy a cheap set from an auto jumble.
