I bought a new fork to my partners MTB but unfortunately it was all wrong :( .
The fork that was ordered was a tapered, but the frame is a typical 11/8.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Edit: This is the frame: http://www.rczbikeshop.com/englishue/rc ... ze-16.html

If the frame is semi integrated (what is 'typical 1 1/8', external bearing or semi-integrated? 10 years ago the former, now the latter I think!) you could use a 1.5" external bearing in the lower which I believe is the same 44mm location as semi-integrated, but it increases stack height and EFFECTIVE axle to crown height so may 'overfork' the frame. If it's external bearing you need a different fork.

get the shop to exchange it for a standard 1 (it was an honest mistake)

but if you have cut it down..... hmmm, ebay or is the steerer tube replaceable?

Standard will (99%) be none semi-itegrated.....fork won't ever fit, sell it or return it.

return the fork and get the correct size one....
    or
buy a new frame with a tapered head tube so you can use the fork.
