Smart Lunar R2 - switching itself off?

Morning all

After doing some Serious Mileage (tm) last night, I noticed with some concern that my Smart Lunar R2 tail light had somehow switched itself off. It must have happened over the last couple of miles as I remember checking behind me when stopped at a junction near the end and seeing that it was still working...

The roads over the last couple of miles were quite rough, could the shaking have done it?

And has anyone else had this problem?

    Did the light get wet?

    Define rough? potholed enough to shake your bones could have caused the battery to work loose or does it need new batteries?
    I found the R2 does take a lot of jiuce and does not work as well when the batteires are low, i use rechargeables and top them up every 2 weeks.
    cant say that i have ever had a problem with rain and i ride in all weathers.

    Had a similar problem with the R2 over bumpy roads and was about to send it back as faulty but then just tried opening up the case and reseating the batteries which fixed the issue (probably happened when I replaced the original batteries).

    Fortunately it was only a backup light for a rear dynamo LED though.....

    Hi all, thanks for replies.

    @DaxPlusPlus - No, it was completely dry. TBH it's happened once before, it was dry that time as well.

    @cybernight - Not potholes exactly, but holes in the tarmac about 30mm across and deep at maximum. I run 23mm tyres at 120psi. When I switched it back on it came at its usual brightness, so I don't think it's likely to be the batteries.

    @jockywilson - Good idea, thanks.

    The thing is, though, this has happened twice and I have just lost confidence in it. I also have a Cateye Rapid 3 which isn't quite as bright but has never failed me...

    Mine has been fine - even in the wet - so far - but I dont trust it by itself. Always have a backup on. They're so cheap anyway.

    Has it got wet in the past? One of my Smart lights got wet and never worked properly again, even after it had dried out... It switched itself into full, non flashing mode and refused to be switched off, the only way to shut it off was to take the batts out
