2013 Sram Front Derailleur Red Brazeon With Chain Spotter

Does anybody out there know whether this works with the older Red shifters and Cranks? If not can you explain why? I’ve not had the chance to have a look at it in the flesh and see the difference. On the advert it says Note will only work with the NEW Red shifters and new red chainset.
