i like the look of these spd pedals and have a good rating on chain reaction cycles, anyone else agree or think of any better???

yup, very good I'd say.
I dont like Shimano pedals, they make my knees fall to bits, but these would be the ones I'd invest in if I did0 -
they will be fine... and yes there are better ones out there,,, depends what you looking for in a pedal

Very good pedal (I have them & think they're great) but the XT version (M785) you can get delivered for £50 notes they'd be the ones I'd go for.
EDIT - Just seen the M530's for £20 so I'd go for them instead

I have M530s...they are a good intro to MTB SPD pedals.
Very good, adjustable and the additional cage means that you are less likely to loose your footing if you don't put your foot right.
Only downside is that they are heavy.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)
