New cable in Ergo Shifters

Are there any tips in threading a new cable in my Centaur Ergo Shifters. I generally push the cable up into the shifter and the thread it through the next part of the shifter which results in a slight kink in the cable. What I really want to do is push the cable through the 2 parts of the shifter without kinking the cable.

Anyone got any tips of how this can be done?

Trap the end down with a flat bade screwdriver when pushing it through.

Also make sure that before you install the outer cable under bar tape you pit an old bit of cable/pointed implement into the end as use it to enlarge the liner. It will help no end with getting the inner cable started.
