In case anyone is interested, I noticed Aldi have got their summer cycling range in stores this week from today.

I've got my name down for some shorts, fingerless gloves and one of those fluro jackets.

I bought winter gloves before and they have lasted well until now with daily use.

It is all a similar price to budget decathlon gear but I like the fact I can see it before I buy it and get an idea of sizing.

Gonna check it out this evening.

Probably gonna get a soft shell - i have one of their winter jackets and it was fine for all through the winter and my Boil in the bag effort is just to much!!

Had one of the fluro jackets before - was OK at first, but the zip gave out after a few months rendering the whole thing useless

How sweaty was the jacket? Currently got a Gore softshell but I could do with something cooler but more waterproof.

The waterproof looked and felt terribe when i was looking at them yesterday. they did have plenty of venting though. so i'd imagine they would be fine as a pack away/emergency.

the soft shell are pretty good, so i picked one up in black.

I tried my £10 ultra light rain jacket this morning and it was fine. It has a rear pocket with a waterproof bag for your phone in there as well.
Not sure how it would stand up in the pouring rain though...
On another note, the gloves and base layer I got are also top kit!

the softshells seem pretty good, nicely cut anyway so hopefully they'll be reasonably durable. I also grabbed the packajacket, felt a bit flimsy but hopefully it'll do for emergencies.
