Oh yes, and how can you claim such a thing I hear you say and quite right too! However, I base this claim on unarguable logic.

Here is my toolkit - bought three years ago from Woodrups in Leeds for £44. But not dissimilar to the ones you can now get from Lidl for £25 though whether mine is better quality I don't know.

Anyway, I have now successfully used every single tool in the kit!! i.e

Cotterless crank arm extractor
Shimano BB tool
Adjustable BB tool
Screwdriver
Spanner
Pedal spanner and open ended spanner
Chain tool
Adjustable spanner
Tyre levers
Chain whip
Allen key set
Headset spanner
Cone spanners
Spoke nipple tool
Socket adaptor
8mm crank arm allen key
Cassette sprocket lockring
Puncture kit

Plus Campag cassette tool and Suntour Freewheel tool and other tools not shown.

The last used was the adjustable BB tool which successfully extracted the bottom bracket of my mates Carlton Corsair allowing me to grease it up a bit. I've broken a cassette removal tool and chain tool though both were really my fault. But anyway, it illustrates two things - one is that "I am cycle mechanic" deny that if you dare 8) and secondly that these toolkits are serviceable (25000 miles of bike riding maintained, 1 MTB, 1 touring bike, 1 classic racer, two carbon road bikes plus another two classic road bikes renovated) and, given enough pottering with bikes of various ages, you can actually use everything in the kit - nothing is wasted.

For the money, these are great. See it rebranded as many different things, and newer ones have external BB tools.

Agree with SS. Those kits are great for the money. If you manage to break something yo know you'll use it and can justify replacing it with something a bit better.

I still have my chain tool from the one I got in about 2006! Has split hundreds of chains. Actually, still got pretty much everything.

I can split a chain just by looking at it

I have the halfords version which is very similar and its saved me a lot of money , these kist might not be top end but for the average cyclist they will last long enough to get years of use out of them.

Actually, now I think about it, those wheels don't look entirely true. Do you think I should get one of those spoke tensiony devices?
