... a Single Speed.
Basically i have been experimenting on my commute and seeing if i can do it without changing gear, which i can. So i thought why maintain a geared commuter when i can get a Single Speed, however now i am just confused.
I can get to/from work using the 50/18 so what sort of gearing should i go for if i get an off the peg single speed (assuming that they come with differing ratio's) something like a 48/15 (what the langster comes in)?
Also i dont really want any thing Hipster and i want full size drops and front and rear brakes. any suggestions or shall i just trawl ebay and get a 2nd hand Raleigh and convert it myself?
Thoughts, suggestions and offers of your shed bikes greatly welcome.

I am currently reading www.sheldonbrown.com
there is much information on this site that may help, particularly with gear inches.0 -
I've all the pieces of a Langster knocking about but it's flat barred and fixed gear (front brake only) so might fall foul of your no hipster rule. That said, it's not the bike that maketh the hipster, it's the red skinny jeans.0
