Trails near whitefield near Manchester
I'm looking for some trails in north Manchester around whitefield which I can do on a lunchtime or after work in the area.
I've come across this thread on another forum http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=825207
Does anyone know if these trails are still ok? Any tips or gpx routes?
Cheers stu

I found out about this place recently and went for a look. It's ok for a blast around. Most of it is graded blue and easy going, there is a red section which is fun for 30 seconds and acouple of jumps.
The surrounding area is good for riding so it is worth a visit, I can get back to Bolton from there without going on any roads.
Can't help you with the location really, you could ride from clifton park? completely lost my bearings when I wentPapa? Nicole0 -
Is that where I see people cycling over the bridge over death valley on the M60? I wondered what was there.0

It most probably will be, there are some old railway arches you should be able to see from the m60.Papa? Nicole0

Is that the old Hit The North route? Its probably a safe bet for a lunchtime blast but I've no idea how you get there as I was following signs etc.Advocate of disc brakes.0

Any idea how to access this from Bolton. Harwood Area?0 -
The path I take is at the back of burnden park, under the A666 and follow the path right through Moses Gate then along canal through stoneclough. Then it's a case of following the river through Clifton park and you're there.Papa? Nicole0

one point to note, there are bits of the course that are being built so if they are marked off, don't ride them - the rest is all good to go"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"
