Cable guides

Hi there folks

I am considering changing my old steel bike from downtube gear changers to some
Sti's that I have in the shed the biggest problem seems to be replacing the gear shifters with cable guides. i know I can send the frame away and get braze on guides aded but i dont really want to repaint the bike again, I saw a few steel bikes at the Scottish bike show that seemed to have some kind of screwed on adaptors ( for a lack of a better description) anyone know where these things can be found.
