Hi,
I am looking at a SS Karate Monkey for a daily child carrier/weekend mtb (I fancied something a bit different as already own an Anthem) as they look like good fun. I have seen them available for £639 as a complete bike but didn't really want to spend that much. I built up my last bike and loved it so thought I could do the same and save some pennies but doing my maths I can't see I can do it for less than the complete bike. The frame is £269 so leaves £370 for the rest and can't see you can even buy a half decent set of wheels for less than £180 and then a half decent crank would be £50. Anyone got any suggestions or should I just go for the complete bike?
