Posh bike service recommendations

OK, so I'm hoping to get the 'dale serviced in the next week or so before I head to Spain for my Catalonian cycling holiday.
Anyone recommend a good place to get it done in C/SE London? I know I could just take it down to the LBS, but I'm not sure how proficient they are with slightly higher end bikes.
Cheers.

Swift Cycles near Liverpool Street
GB Cycles in Croydon0 -
Aye, been to GB before and they did a decent job on the commuter. Cheers.
Any more for any more?0 -
DeVer, Cyclopolis - my go to place.Food Chain number = 4
A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game0 -
Both a bit SW for my liking, DDD, but cheers. Cyclopolis is new to me, so will check out at some point.0

Condor sorted out the gears on my Viner. GB Cycles sorted out my shifters when it was new (the ones they supplied were faulty). Swift Cycles seem pretty good, although the new BB cups they fitted came loose very quickly and I had to tighten them up myself. They didn't do a fantastic job with the Ridgeback either, but to be fair I told them to replace as few parts as possible and just get it back on the road, so not exactly a "posh" service!0

This is going to sound facetious and unhelpful, which it really isn't meant to be.
Get some tools, download indexing instructions from ShimagnoloRAM, and learn how to DIY. Bottom line is that once you've got it figured out, no one will service your bike as well as you do (fcuk ups excepted).
In Central London Condor is the stand out if expensive choice though.0 -
Neither facetious nor unhelpful. I'll be DIM, so to speak, as soon as my workstand arrives. Need to lay in some additional tools before I can do a proper job, though. And I know nothing about wheel truing or brakes, so I fancy leaving it to the experts this time.0
-
Trust me. Both are dead easy.0
-
I'm sure they are once you know how. And I'll endeavour to learn how just as soon as I get back from Catalonia and shell out for the requisite tools.0

My ex-neighbour, who had about 6 bikes, recommended Brockley Bikes to me when I had a niggling noise with my road bike gears. I haven't taken it over there yet do can't comment on how good his rec is but they're in an industrial estate near Brockley station so definitely SE.0
-
Yep, I've been there before. Did a good job on the commuter when I first got it and were very reasonable, but their usual MO is servicing police bikes. While I'm sure they can do a decent job on anything, I'd rather go for a place that's used to dealing with higher end stuff.
Cheers all. I think Condor/London Bike Workshop might be the ones, then DIY afterwards.0 -
Another vote for Condor, but you need to book well in advance.0

Ah. London Bike Workshop it is, then.0 -
London Cycle Workshop (not to be confused with LBW) are also good. On St John's Hill in Battersea. They've done a few bits for me and have done a great job.
Took my bike in about three months after having new cables fitted. Before I'd explained that some twat had knocked my front mech getting their shopper out of the racks at work, he remembered me and tuned my gears up for free.0 -

If you get stuck, it is worth telling Condor that you are off to Catalonia and aske them if there is any chance they can fit you in. If they can help, they will.http://www.georgesfoundation.org

Long term, it is worth the investment in tools and there are plenty of video blogs and guides on t'interweb to help you. The labour cost saved is immense overall and there is the satisfaction of doing something for yourself and doing it well.0

Another vote for London Bike Workshop on Clerkenwell Road. Made my much neglected bike ride like new. The fella in there also chucked in some free bar tape, mine was so dirty that I think he was embarrassed for me  .0

'Cor, not for me then.
Probably costs more than I'd get for my road bike!0 -
I've just had a bike build by Mosquito Bikes and they were superb. The build itself is spot on. They do servicing too.0

Another vote for DO IT YOURSELF.
Jesus, some right useless folk on here. It's hardly rocket science.
