Best Hardtail under £850

I currently own a 2009 Dawes XC 1.6 and want to start getting into more extreme biking but don't have the big budget that we would all love to have, I would not spend any more than £850, I want to have a bike which is light, has good forks, and will last me a while. Any ideas? The Boardman Comp, Vitus Zircon 2, Cannondale SL 5, and Carrera Fury all look good on paper, but are there any better for value and if not, which one of the above is better?

    Check out paulscycles.com. Some nice bikes within your budget. (especially if you are small)
