Bit of a dilema

Right guys, got myself into a bit of a dilema. Decided that as my work are doing the c2w scheme with halfords, that I would get a bike again (sold my giant atx dh2 six years ago, haven't ridden since). Decided not to spend too much and signed up for £550, with the intention of getting the Carrera Banshee, but now not sure what bike would best suit my needs.
Most of my riding, at least once I rebuildy confidence, will be around Glentress, 7stanes and local woods/trails. I am 15 and a half stone, and will no doubt be quite a hard rider at first.
I am now torn between sticking with the banshee, or going hard tail with either a voodoo hoodoo, or carrera kraken, or if I can get some discount a carrera fury. Any advice?

If you plan to ride as hard as you say, and don't mind the extra weight, then I'd stick to the Banshee. But it is no DH bike, so still have to be careful.0
