Specialized Rockhopper Expert vs Cube LTD

New to mountain biking (and the forum) and am looking to buy a decent hardtail mountain bike for use mainly in trail centres in the Lakes and SW Scotland and have narrowed it down to either the Specialized Rockhopper Expert and the Cube LTD, both are in a similar price range, but as I'm new to this, I'm unsure which would be the better choice to get started on. Any advice would be helpful.
