If Uran rides well, will there be anyone left towards the end to help him out? Stannard, Bernie & Flecha maybe?

Doesn't seem they think Uran will podium given how skewed the team is towards Cavendish, who you'd have to think isn't going to last the week given how poorly he's going in Romandie.

Uran only recently decided to ride the Giro, so that's why the team looks more like a stage-hunting one. Henao, Kennaugh, G, and Flecha can all help in the mountains.

Cav is going okay in Romandie. He hadn't raced for over a month and is really there to get some racing in. He looked much stronger today doing a lot of work on the front.

Uran and Henao should appreciate the more flamboyant Italian GT racing.
A decent squad that contest wins over all terrain.
More than can be said of the load of minimum wagers that a lot of teams are sending.
Looking like the weakest Giro field in ages.
Last "name" to scratch, RaNT's team leader Jakob Fuglsang. Out through injury.

Rumour is frank schleck to replace him. Not a bad team then with him and Kloden heading the team.

saw that this week, Cycling News reported in the morning that Johan had tipped Fuglsang for the overall... 5pm they reported that he was out of the giro squad...

Just because there aren't so many stars at the Giro it doesn't mean it won't be a great race, in fact it might in a way benefit the race because there won't be so many names watching each other (Schleck like). It could end up just being a launch pad for some new talent to make a name for themselves. Like the guy Gabrovski who won the Tour of Turkey, a real left fielder who flew up the steep job and no one could get near, unexpected and great entertainment and what about the finish into Izmir when Iljo Keisse went of the front then when he looked like he had it in the bag going into the finish he then drops it on a tight corner, got back on, then got off again fiddled the chain back on and just held on to hold off Kittel and the rest of the marauding pack, great stuff. Not many big names at that race but it gave some interesting viewing none the less.
