It all started with a sporadic free finance purchase and 966 days later the Allez* has now, according to Guinness, circumnavigated the world! Not up to Mark Beaumonts standard but at 18 miles a day, not bad going! So who else here has got their steed around the globe?

An ugly ducking with sora, alex rims and toe clips it was only downhill from there with me at the helm!
June 2010: 1,407 unsupported fully loaded miles to Rome
And today half way around Richmond Park
*original parts: frame, forks, headset, bars and stem.
Another lap?

How many miles is it to the moon?...
I was thinking I did 5000 miles last year (aiming for 6000 this). And in the last few years must have done at least 4000 a year or so but never really recorded it (wasn't OCD on it til I got the garmin ).. so my 2007 Pinnacle must have done about 21,000 miles... 3 sets of tyres, 4 chains and one new cassette, but original wheels/hubs...Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0 -

It's on its 3rd BB, about 6th chain/cassette, second groupset [crank, shifters and derailleurs]. Hmm tyres, at a guess 6th set.
The PlanetX Model C front wheel is on about 14,000 miles, never serviced, the Halo Mercury on the back about 5,000.0 -

M'eh! Only a fool cycles to the moons average orbit distance. You need to aim for the nearest point - 221463 miles; well over 17,000 miles nearer. That saves a couple of years at leastFaster than a tent.......0 -
If we did it as a group.... how many miles did we collectively do on that Cycling Challenge last year?Invacare Spectra Plus electric wheelchair, max speed 4mph0
