I have just got this Blackspire Stinger
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=17282
I'm fitting it to my Reign X with 2x9 gearing. The Raceface Atlas chain device I'm taking off has a roller which moves in & out with the chain when shifting from the big (middle) ring to granny ring. The Stinger has a fixed roller with a groove the width of the chain, should this be in line with the big/middle ring? Will it run properly when I'm using the granny ring?
Or have I been stupid & bought a single ring chain device?

The chain comes out of the groove when on the granny ring."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

the roller should be stepped chain in groove in mid ring and in granny ring the chain goes onto the outside bit of the roller.www.bearbackbiking.com

Why would you need this on a 2x9. A way of tensioning a single speed that stinger would be fine but surely the rear mech does the tensioing job, thats what its for.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Loads of people run them on 2x set ups, and even some support 3x up front. Used to reduce/eliminate chainslap, and loss of chain over the bumpy stuff!0 -
I think the problem here I never managed to loose a chain over bumpy stuff. Chain slap though never bothered me.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0
