Rotors - mix and match?

I've got a 185mm brake up front and 160mm rear. I'm getting a second pair of wheels which are centrelock - should I buy the same make (Avid) rotors as are on the other wheels (the brakes are Avid Elixir)? Does it matter if it's the G2 or G3?
Plenty of 6 bolt rotors cheap on ebay - should I get these to save money and buy an adapter to use them on the centrelock wheels?

They all seem to work pretty much the same - the very light ones can wear pads quicker, or chew them up more though.0

Thanks. So it's ok to buy a Shimano 160mm rotor to use with the AVid brakes?0

I'm running avid / shimano at the moment, works fine, so yes.0

if you read around about people using the adaptor there are complaints about some rotor play developing. Nothing severe but it doesn't inspire much confidence.0
