I'm currently an owner of a cube ltd race 2012 and I recently purchased some cube bar ends. My question / dilemma is that now the ends of the handle bars are exposed they are in need of some bar end plugs but all the bar end plugs that I can find are oversized in diameter and and generally built to meet flush with the grips were I need some that are flush in diameter with the handlebar tube.

What's the deal? Am I just being to fussy?

Thanks
Matt

Never seen any that are the diameter of the grips. Most are bar sized.

It was originally something like this that I was interested in

but the diameter says 28mm a quick measure of my bar looks to be something like 22mm do I just have a smaller bar than most. (spec sheet says Easton EA30 Lowriser)

Or have I just picked the only bar end plugs that appear to be oversized

OK I ordered some more bar end plugs. They arrived today and once again they are much larger than they need to be. The outside diameter of my handle bar is 22mm yet all the bar end plugs that I've bought are 30+mm in diameter as they are designed to fit flush with grips rather than the tube. Can anyone point me in the direction of a pair of black metal bar end plugs which are designed to fit flush on the tube.?

I had the same issue as you; the end plugs that came with my Canyon were the diameter of the grip, not the bar so they stuck out once I'd put bar ends on. I got some black plastic ones for about a quid from the LBS, they've done the job fine.

    How about these:

Fit internal bar diameter of 16 or 19mm....

Those look the same to me - intended to protect the grip as well.

How about the lizard skins ones here:

there are a couple of others that look the right size.

I had the same problem as well.

I bought some cinelli anodized red plugs for 4.99 from CRC and they didnt appear to fit all the way. A hammer sorted that out! They look well smart with my bar ends!
