Hi all,

maybe a silly question but i dont know the answer so im gonna ask it anyway.

Are all disc's compatible with all brake sets?? I.e. if i buy Formula brakes, can i stick them on my current disc's??

And the same question with disc size. I have 160mm discs, is there anything stopping me buying 180mm discs, and an adaptor to fit the caliper??

Cheers

As a rule, all disc work with all brakes as long as the size is correct. That said, some discs are fatter than others (Shimano is fatter than Formula for example) and so can drag in the caliper. You can buy a 180 adaptor and disc and swap, yes. Not really worth it on the back mind. The wheel will lock 160 or 180.

  • Cheers fella,

Been eyeing up new brakes, and thought i needed new disc's as well, specific to the calipers. Good to know thats not neccessarilly the case.
