XT levers with Sram X9 mech

Hope somebody can advise a newbie with MTB ( roadie for years and years !! )
I have 10 speed SRAM X9 rear with X7 levers.
I have previously ridden a friends 'old' bike ( it's what got me into off road ) and he had 9 speed XT rear with XT levers.
I much prefer the change up action, pull lever towards to release, of the XT over the SRAM.
I know cog spacings are the same for both makes but can I successfully use XT levers with the SRAM front & rear mechs?
I note that the latest XT Rapid Fire plus talk about Dyna sys - will that affect me? (Chainset is Shimano but not Dyna sys) Or do I need earlier 10 speed XT non Dyna sys levers ?
Thanks in advance.

will not work.
See the FAQs.
total change 10spd is not inter compatable or changable with any other."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

XT shifters will work with front mechs only, not the rear. In any format.
You will need new 10 speed Shimano shifters, and new 10 speed rear mech. No need to change anything else, chainset is fine.0
