Cateye Strada wireless double flashing speed

I bought a Cateye Strada wireless double from a mate who had upgraded so I could monitor my cadence.
I set it up and it worked fine for the last 300 miles but now half way around my rides the speed display starts flashing!

All the readouts are fine cadance distance time odo avg etc

I tried new batteries no difference. When you reset the 2 mileage readings the speed will stop flashing, but it will do it again say 10 or 20 miles into the next ride.

I can't find anything in the instructions about speed flashing it says signal flashing is battery.
Anyone else had this what does it mean?

According to these instructions (and someone on a forum) the speed flashes when the battery is low. It could be you replaced the battery with one that is not full strength. Or it could be that it is telling you that the sensor battery is low (although the instructions don't say that).

OK thanks for your help. I did put new batteries in both computer and sensor and I checked them with a volt meter 3v. I did have problems trying to get the signal from the sensor when pressing the reset button. I ended up putting the orignal battery which also was 3v according to my meter back in the sensor before the computer got the signal.

Maybe it is battery but the instructions say sensor signal reception flashing is battery it doesn't mention the speed readout flashing or did I miss that?

It says both. From the bottom of the second page in the section 'replacing the battery' :-

    Sensor
,Replace the battery when the Speed digit flashes After replacement
check the positions of the sensor and magnet

I put a new battery in the sensor and got them to sycn first time. I went for a 20 mile ride yesterday and flashing speed has gone. Thanks
