Did you need to face the BB and head tube before installing the cranks and headset?

thanks Jai

Yeah they have them on sale for £250 at the mo it'll be silly not too :-)

Its a bit burly for what I wanted it for just general XC riding but its much lighter than anything else at that price. I'm hoping the geo stays relatively relaxed even with a short fork. Bike Radar seem to suggest its a bit stiff but user comments seem to contradict this. I'm hoping choosing the correct components I'll reduce some stiffness.

Got it in bright Yellow, you'll prob be able to see me coming a mile away!

ps with the headset, just get the LBS to do it. It shouldn't cost too much and it'll be done right. My one will give reduced or even free fitting if you buy the headset from them.

Its not hard you just need the correct tool which can cost a lot to buy. There are many "how to" guides on making a home made headset press if you really are watching the pennies.

You could've got a Whippet for the same price

yes but geo looks a bit stretched out and racey. I was after something more relaxed.

    fair enough.

Was thinking of doing a C456 build, then changed to a Whippet, now think I've decided on a 2kg+ alu Nukeproof Snap

TBH I could've gone either way but the C456 is more than strong enough for those "just in case" moments and still more than light enough.

And it comes in bight yellow ! :D
