Long shot I know but has anyone ever ridden this from the Maurienne valley (it includes the Lacets de Montvernier, look up an image for a giggle).

From what other people have written I can't quite work out if there is a "road bikeable" route to cut across to the Madeleine or do you have to descend the same way.
