over the last three days in liverpool the city has been treated to some of the most amazing street theatre. A giant 50 foot diver, who was lost on the Titanic has been searching for his giant 30ft niece in answer to a letter she sent to him expressing her sadness. A team of animators/puppeteers brought the characters to life, blinking, kneeling, waving. If you get a chance to see this incredible French company at work do so - it is magical, mythical, enchanting, poignant - it really does give life a different perspective. Heres some pics from it.

Thanks for posting Cleat. Folks from the Mersey Forest mentioned this during a meeting up in Bootle last week. I'm so pleased with the coverage and that the event seems to have captured the imagination.

I think this is great... how refreshing to see something genuinely creative, innovative, clever and fun.

saw a few news items about these, fascinating. Living in Norfolk for the most part is very pleasant but one drawback is we don't get to see anything like that.

There were complaints about the little girl puppet in the tabloids, supposedly took a pee during the shows.

Cannot see what this has to do with the show. Maybe a french idea?

Can you make it to Peterborough?

There is a company called Les Trois Points Suspension appearing at the Festival there in July. We saw them at Derby last year and they were brilliant. Not on the same scale as the giants  but worth going to see, make sure you go to the the little backstage show afterwards, a very good 50p worth.

don't be put off by how cheesy it looks, it's very slick and professional.

A friend of mine is a keen amatuer photographer and took some pictures of the same mob when they were in London doing the Sultan's Elephant. Also did the Spider in Liverpool.

I think they're rather good. Certainly better than anything I could do.

Ta, he is very good. He's taken some great pictures of my kids over the years. It's really nice to have some good quality pictures of them to hang on the wall.
Did you look at any of his other pics? Some only mean anything to friends and family. But the more general ones are well worth a look.
