I've had the same tyres/tubes for about a year now, puncture free. In fact I would have said they were like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers; an invincible combination!!

But time is taking its toll and fresh rubber was a must, so last night I ordered 2 new tyres (came with 2 free inner tubes). Happy with my order and content that new super grip was on its way I went to bed, and woke this morning to find beautiful sun calling me out to play in the nearby trails. I called up my mate and we set a time and I started gathering up my bits and pieces to set off.

Wheeled my bike to the front door and what did I find...in a dirty protest against me ordering new tyres AND tubes my front wheel had gone completely flat!! In the house!!!!

I said sorry anyway and pumped it up to see if there was any slime left in there and lo and behold, it's stayed up for the past 45 minutes with no loss of pressure, the apology worked.

Ssssshhh don't tell it, but the new stuff is still on order! Bikes..touchy buggers!

  • :D, strange that, you sure it wasn't the mrs finding the order and not being happy and using your superstitious nature to save money so she could buy a new handbag?

that being said it also happens when something starts to creak, shout at it an it disappears until it falls off in protest
    worst moment ever...
buzzing down twisting single track then.... psssst BANG!!!
