27.5er - 650b tyres

Hi folks
I've tried to do some research on 650b tyres but haven't found the answers, so am looking for a bit of advice. Am I right in thinking these will convert a standard bike to a '27.5er'. Or do you need other parts.
If so, are they compatible with fox floats and will they fit straight on to 26 inch wheels? Also, has anyone tried these out as i can find many reviews. Does the higher BB position cos any problems?
Thanks

You would just need wheels?

The 29er performed well and he took away from me several times, more than what he was doing on full suspension bikes. I need my bike for the roads so didn't want to go for full suspension. Also just built my bike up so not wanting to buy another as I'm happy with it. I had a look at other options and seen the 650b tyres. I know there's a lot of debate around 26 v 29 and 27.5 seems like a compromise. Doubt I'll take it any further though.
BUT.. if the clearance was there, wheels and tyres would be all that was needed?
