Went up my usual training hill last night. In the granny ring on the front, 1st and 2nd gear on rear fine.
Go to middle ring chain keep jumping from 2nd to 1st then into wheel. Can anyone help. All other gear combo run fine.

is this when you are putting power through?

Check over indexing, check mech hanger straight, check limit screws.

if this has jammed into the spokes, check the spokes are not damaged.

Can't think of anything else at the moment, sorry.

    p.s. check chain for wear,

It does seem to be only when I put the power down, but when soft pedaling it sounds like its trying to change up, the strange thing is in any other gear combo it run fine!

CAble adjustment.... try adjusting on the barrels

    Or chain wear...

If it's jumping into the wheel, the low limit screw is set wrong.

  • if it is trying to change up when it is in 2 then the cable is too tight if it is struggling to get into 1 when in 2 then it is to loose

If it jumps into the wheel, your limit screw is still wrong, and likely to cause expensive damage.
