I would like to know if anyone else is having problems getting hold of a new bike, ordered a Giant 29er composite last October and still waiting, I have been told that this is a common problem with new bikes this year

    8 week delay is common place but nearly six months is pathetic, I'd cancel

    Yes, I did, and my brother is facing the same thing. A few LBS's mentioned that some OEM's had basically under-ordered stock for the UK, demand has been higher than expected, and they can't easily just crank a handle and magic up thousands of extra bikes with such a complex supply chain.

    Surprised someone as big as Giant is having problems cranking them out though. I had to wait a long time for my Yeti frame because they just can't manufacture enough to meet worldwide demand.

    Giant and Trek seem to be two of the ones affected - so it is not as if it is just the small guys!
