Should stem be flush?

Hello,
I have replaced my easton stem on my Cubt ltd with a 60mm Nukeproof. Problem is the centre width of the existing Easton Monkey bars means that the stem clamp and body isn't flush. The only way to remedy this would be to replace the bars.
Could I leave as is or would it be dodgy? The screws mounts are in quite far but obviously not a flush fit.
Thanks

Most of the stems out there are like the Nukeproof one - it's by design.
Only very few recent stems have one locking edge.0 -
Make sure the top and bottom are even and torqued properly and away you go.
I don't think many will be perfectly flush. Doesn't leave any room for error..0 -
Yep top and bottom clamp is an even gap as shown in the picture and torqued.I'm pedalling as fast as I can!0

Just did a 7.5 mile ride mixture of road, trail, cliffs and some smallish jumps. Checked stem all ok, no loose bolts and steering is much closer and better on the bike.I'm pedalling as fast as I can!0
