Anyone done these before?
Looking to dip my toe in the water at the Callander and Achray forest event in May.
edit - sorry forgot to specify it was involving bikes..

I have done a few around Devon and Cornwall organised by Mud and Sweat. Great fun but you need to take time to plan your route rather than rushing off like a headless chicken at the start.Genesis Croix de Fer - my new commuting mount
Saracen Hytrail - the workhorse - now pensioned off
Kinetic-One FK1 roadie - the fast one - hairy legs though!
Cannondale Jekyll Lefty MTB - the muddy one which keeps tipping me into gorse bushes!0 -
You need a mapboard.
If you get keen you can buy a posh rotating one for about £50, but to start with you can make one out of a bit of estate agent's board or hardboard, some cable ties and a bull dog clip.
Google it.
You'll be able to concentrate much better on where you are going if you don't have to keep fiddling with your map.
Well worth the effort though - I've done loads of them and it's my favourite MTB activity.0
