Most of the women/girls I've seen have been at the downhill and freeride areas. I occasionally see a group of ladies out around rivington together but then there is also a group of fellas somewhere nearby. Must be the WAGS

    That made me chuckle...

On a serious note, I like her bike

And the one nearer to the top is a bit older than she looks. Although you still would.

Unlike you, not everyone is into 12 year olds.

I'm definitely a 'girly-girl' however as miss notax points out there is a lot of mud and pain involved in mountain biking so when I'm on the bike I'm not so girly!
Having said that, last year after a race that finished mid-afternoon I popped home, blow dried my hair and put on a nice dress for the prize giving. I was ridiculed by my (male) mountain biking buddies but at least I looked good in the photos :D

Weird that, I get ridiculed when I put on a nice dress as well.

Come on ops, enforce your own rules. If someone had asked "how much is my bike worth?" he'd have been fired out of a cannon by now. You can't just selectively enforce the ones that you like.

To the original question, all the girls I know who go biking are most definitely girly girls, far too much focus on the shiny accessories, and not important things like tools, oil, fork rebound settings, dinosaurs, pirates and fighting, bah! :)

Which reminds me, I need a new Camelbak as my old one doesn't match my new grips...

Now, there's a fine line between Butch and elfin. Surely its the personality that counts.

I trend to avoid sporty women, mainly due to their ability to out run me. shot putters being the exception.

I do like bikey girls though, more so not dolled up, Rachel Atherton looks better work mud all over her face

This thread has made me choke on my tea 3 times now. Classic.

To go back to the OP, I'm not really a girly girl, too tall for high heels (and duff leg won't let me wear them yet), and have painted my nails once in the last 10 years. However I'm definitely not butch, more of a "tomboy" which is what is needed when you're hurtling towards the ground and wondering exactly what you did wrong this time, and whether it's going to be just a bruise or maybe a scar.
I do however put on makeup to go ride (you never know who you're going to meet), but I do scrub up pretty well, once the mud's come off and I've got nice clothes on. It's hard to judge a girl while she's in her gear on the bike, we all have to cope with bike clothes that don't ever seem to fit just right. I recently had a situation arise when a guy said 'you're actually a lot thinner than I thought' He'd only seen me in riding and snowboarding gear.
    Well that's my 2p's worth.

    As you were.
