Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the oldest of the monuments and... er... the least interesting... coming up on Sunday, and the last one-day race before the focus switches to stage-racing for the next few months.

But just to be clear, it's not a chipper.

Has this race [Amstel Gold] ever been exciting before the 30km mark - crashes aside?
You meant to say 300 metres, right?

Couple years ago it got exciting at 15-20k out didn't it?
...I dont like these long races much. Basically in most cases they just ride and ride and ride before launching the hostilities in the same places as if they race was 50km shorter and in many cases the hostilities are unleashed nearer to the finish as the riders are smoked.

...I'm starting to suspect that there are some folk around here who don't really like cycling at all.

    ..Ssssh...

    Don't tell anyone ;)

Remember, we're the people who watch more than more or less anyone.

Most regulars here will watch more or less every stage in GTs and big 1 weekers, hours and hours of one day races.

Most of us will even watch the Tour of Oman and Tour of Qatar.

I'm still wedded to the folly of punting on last years form, so GILBERT please afx.

I'd better post my pick before I forget again. I woke this morning not knowing what day it was then realised I'd missed Fleche Wallonne.

    Philippe Gilbert for LBL please.

Try to make up some ground and pick an outsider - or stay at the back of the peleton?

    Gilbert please.

I think we'd all agree that theres gotta be a cobble or three involved :) Fleche & Amstel, as i think Rick mentioned before now, only need to be watched in the closing stages really... even 3 laps of the Muur doesn't seem to generate more exciting racing. Liege is better, but not by much over the past few years...

That said... i'll still be watching em all ;)

Trying to be clever on the PTP is getting my nowhere, so ill go for each way bet on PIP please.

    Dear Mr Mod,

I've just glimpsed an advert in the bottom left hand corner for what appeared to be a 'Cycling in Norway' holiday. Only it vanished after 4 seconds and I can't find out what to click on to bring it back. But the adverts for Fedex last for ages. Please can you fix it for me.

    Thankyou,

    Tusher (Mrs)

And as for LBL, I really would like to think that Rigoberto can do it, I believe he can, but I don't think Sky can.
