Just got my first MTB :D , a spesh rockhopper and i know a few of the descent road routes local to me in Dudley(west mids) as i try and get out on my Ridley road bike as often as family life allows. Can anyone recommend any local rides for me and my MTB, keep in mind its my first time. Ive seen some of the trails in Cannock chase the more experience riders take on  , recon i need plenty of practice first  .

Cheers naffa, they all sound good, recon im best of starting on the cut, not sure about cycling through the tunnel. Walked through it doing a bit of geacaching and wouldn't fancy it at speed, just yet.
A meet sounds good, give me a bit of time to find my feet/wheels and i'll give ya shout.

The Baggeridge loop is only about 2 miles long

Could link it up with a bit of the old railway or head over to Penn Common

The Pattingham loop is a nice mix of bridleways and country lanes. It's a pleasant 25 milesish but you can make it longer or shorter.
