Hi, I was looking at getting the Rock Shox Monarch 3.3 rear shock, but I read it dosen't have lockout.

How does this handle on steep hill climbs?

Thanks.

That's more a function of your frame/pivot geometry than actual shock.
FWIW I have an RP2 and only use pro pedal out on bits of road, and then only really because it's there.

It's got a floodgate which can be wound up the whole way to make it compress much slower. It's close enough to a lockout. I used that on roads which did the trick, until I realised if I didn't stand on the pedals and really go for it, there wasn't any noticeable bob anyway.

Is that something I would need to adjust just for the hill then change back?

Is it possible to activate that feature using a remote lockout lever?

Often suspension helps on steep technical hills. Lets the wheel ride over obstacles instead of bouncing.
