Afternoon
Could anybody please tell me where i might find out any information on the maximum amount of fork travel you can put on a 2009 trek fuel ex8? i'm looking to step up from the 130mm to 140 or possibly 150mm but can't find any info on frame warranties
cheers

Don't know about the 2009 bikes but a mate put a 150 mm fork (Rockshox Revalation) on his 2010 EX8 and loves it.
Doubt if you'll get any warranty though - will be your own risk.0 -
Bikes tend to work best with a fork of the same a2c length as standard. Any different will affect the geometry. As Trek have specced a 130mm travel fork over the more common 120 and 140 options, they obviously feel it works best at this setting. Axle 2 Crown length is more important than travel though-some 120 forks are longer than 140s!0

i have the 6.5, and it had a 130 recon, ive stuck a 140 revelation and it works really well, didnt see any difference in handling, if anything i prefer it, but i did ring trek and they didnt confirm, but i got the impression it would be fine, but obviously the guy couldnt say yes a 140 will work, due to warranty and all that.
my 140 rev had a very similar axle to crown height as the 130 recon.
also my little brother put the 130 recons on a merida which had a 120 fork, and the AtC height was a fair bit difference, and he says the bike is fine, and prefers the handling.
