Reminds me of about 10 yrs ago in Cambridge they made some of the roads bus and taxi only and put in raising bollards to stop anyone else. For about a year after, every couple of weeks there would be a pic in the local paper of a car impaled on the bollards where they had tried to follow a taxi through and the bollards had risen up rather rapildly.

For some reason the nicer the car impaled the more it made me smile!

I wonder at what point the driver thought he'd better get out and check why the pavement suddenly seemed a lot more lumpy than it looked.
